Today's shop of the week is AlteredsewFittingly.  You may remember BethAnn from my post last August ( http://silverpennyartisans.blogspot.ca/2015/08/treasury-tuesday-todays-treasure-is.html ).  

BethAnn has so many new and wonderful items!!  I just had to share some of them with you!!

BethAnn says her "fascination with the odd perspectives is the key to almost all my designs. Turning things upside down, inside out, imagining another scale, whether super-sized or tiny miniatures and the rich textures of nature are what I try to share in my handcrafts. Dollhouse4aDoll'aHouse~TINY~Miniature Dollhouse

Tiny. House for a dollhouse! Unsanded, unpainted, unfinished Balsa wood.

3 Rooms, two upper with a pass-thru doorway, one large room lower level.

Open front with a partial roof, a deep slanting roof on the open back.

Representation of a chimney at one end.

Use your imagination; this can even be decorated and furnished for tiny q-tip people! Added to fairy garden home or put it on a shish-kabob skewer to use for a plant poke!

Pinecone Flowers ~ tiny

Yes, they ARE way more difficult to make than it would appear to be!

Each tiny "flower" is about 1" wide when I have finished carving it, then it's drilled and attached to a painted bamboo shishkabob skewer for a stem. The various sturdy pine cones have also been oven-dried for two hours (eliminating any clinging organisms), dipped in a white primer solution, dried again, then painted with three layers of colorful acrylics, dried once more and finished with a water-resistant top coat.

I like the fantasy varieties best, but many seemingly resemble marigolds, zinnias, chicory, forget-me-nots and johnny jump-up violets to name a few!

Give your potted green plants some encouragement or pop a dash of color into the garden to motivate them to get blooming!

DREAM topsy-turvy BELIEVE

I hand-painted this weathered vintage door panel with highly stylized words to inspire! 

A topsy-turvy whimsical fantasy font that can be hung upside-down to or right side up!

When you "see" the words, it reads "DReAM" one way and "bElieve" the other. 

Rough and uncoated, not a stencil, not a vinyl cut-out, the imperfections are part of its rustic charm. The reverse side has the chippy original paint with an epoxy-glued wire hanger . 

Signed and dated in roman numerals on the edge!

LadyBug~GardenSpike

Ladybugs are ADORABLE!!! These mega-LadyBugs are TOUGH, too! (Made of vintage Croquet ball manufacturing discards!

Dressed up to become a splash of color and whimsical highlight in your garden or large flowerpot! Finished with several clear coats of special UV protection polyurethane for outdoor (or indoor) use, they are Numbered, signed and dated by the artist; me!

A "mounting bracket" made of PVC end-cap has been permanently attached to original under surface with clear epoxy before being painted. Re-positionable, it press-fits, attaching to longer sections of PVC pipe "stems" which can be obtained at most hardware stores. They may even cut it for you, (diagram will be enclosed) or use a regular hand- hacksaw to easily cut to custom lengths then spray paint with Krylon for Plastics to blend in with other plant greens, instructions included, to keep your Ladybug flying high ABOVE the height of your growing plants.

Storage Rack ~PlanterBox 

Storage for magazines, mail caddy, a planter for orchids in a bathroom; just a few of the uses you might find for this rustic rescued vintage chair-back. Somewhere, someone will be reminded of Hurricane Sandy if they saw the remains of this spindle bow, but that can be your secret! Made of real wood, this upcycled wall hanging could also sit flat on a shelf.

Watermelon, Tree Slice, Primitive, Save-the-Date, Wedding Tablesetting, Summer Party Centerpiece

A fun symbol of abundance: Watermelon! 

These tree slices are the remains of a timber harvest; this section removed just before a tree was felled. Gathered years later from the forest floor it has been dried slowly and heat-treated for sanitation, stained with acrylic paints on one side and matte sealed to resemble a favorite summertime treat!

The other side which was left rough-sawn and unpainted to reveal the natural yearly growth rings (that may still be counted) has been signed and dated by stained carving.

Sustainably harvested from storm damaged trees on private property with respect for ecosystems.

No two slices will be exactly the same.

TREASURY TUESDAY Today's treasure is La Bella's Cottage

Happy Tuesday to all of you, my treasured readers and friends!  It has been far too long since my last TREASURY TUESDAY!  Today I have brought to you a genius at Shabby Cottage Home Decor!!!

At this time, I would like to introduce you to Melissa Dawson!  Melissa is married with a great husband, wonderful kids and cute little pups.  In her own words, "I love to add color to cast iron and metal. Distressing gives it that shabby cottage look. Bring a little shabby cottage into your home.

 Cast Iron Towel Holder

This is a nice heavy cast iron towel holder. The design is a pretty swirl design.  I have painted a white satin and it has been distressed. Place in your home and add a little shabby cottage decor. Looks so great!!!

  Chic Frame

 What a nice piece. This is an oval mirror that has been painted off-white. It is made out of poly-resin. Very nice and a lot of detail. I have also added a blue knob that is made out of cast iron. You can hang your hat, keys or a scarf. Very pretty and very different. I have only two of these.

 

Large Letters

This is a new item that I wanted to share with you. Made out of a heavy resin, a large letter to put on display on your wall. I have painted a shabby cottage pale yellow. I also distressed just slightly. There is a gold/bronze undertone.

Measurements vary depending on the letter. The height of all letters are 12".

 Drawer Pulls

 A set of 4 beautiful decorative drawer pulls. They are made out of metal and I have painted a white satin. They have also been distressed to give them that shabby cottage look. Add a personal touch to doors, cabinet doors, dresser doors a shelf, just anywhere.

The knob measures approximately 7/8" x 1 3/8" x 1 1/8".

 Wall Decor

 This is a very nice piece. Made out of a heavy cast iron and I have painted a white satin and distressed. It gives this wall decor a great rustic shabby cottage look. Hang anywhere in any room of your home. Easy hanging.

There are so many swirls and such a great design.

Measurements H 8 1/2", L 13 1/2".

 Cast Iron Light Switch Plate

 One cast iron light switch plate. Very nice and heavy. I have painted a white satin and they have been distressed. A nice fleur de lis around the sides. Place on the wall and bring a little shabby cottage into the room. Perfect in any room. Give as a gift. Standard size light plate.

  Wall Hook

This is very different looking. Has that vintage feel about it. Made out of cast iron, painted a pretty Off-white and lightly distressed. Pretty as a picture! A door plate with a design of a door lock and a small door handle made out of a heavy plastic. Has the look of an old glass knob. Easy to hang.

Use to hang your hat, jacket, keys, just anything you would like. Be creative. Add anywhere in your home and brighten up any wall. Add a little POP with this color. Give to someone special as a gift.

Measurements H 8" L 2 3/4".

 

 Bird Hook

This is an outstanding hooker/hanger. Four birds sitting on a branch with two hooks for anything you please. Hang your hat, jacket, jewelry, towel, keys....just anything. This is made out of cast iron and painted a satin white. It has also been distressed. Easy to hang.

Measurements are H 3 1/2", L 7".

 

 Anchor Hook

This is a beautiful anchor hook/hanger. Made out of cast iron and very sturdy. Hang on any wall in your home or your summer cottage. It will brighten up any wall. You can use to hang a towel, coat, hat, just anything. Easy hanging. I have painted a yellow and it has been distressed. A lot of the red shows through to make it look old. Very chic!

 

Set of 2 Bird Knobs

 Here are 2 adorable little cast iron bird knobs. I have painted them a white satin and they have been distressed. I just love these little knobs. Add them to a shelf with a drawer, nightstand, small dresser, just anywhere. Great for a little girl's room.

These knobs come with the hardware.

 Piggy Drawer Knobs

 These little piggy drawer knobs are just so adorable. They are made out of cast iron and I have painted a light pink. They have also been distressed to give it that shabby cottage rustic look.

Add a personal touch to doors, cabinet doors, dresser doors a shelf, just anywhere.

 Cast Iron Bird Dish

I think this is so adorable. The entire piece is made out of cast iron. The dish itself is a leaf and the bird is sitting on top off to the side. I have painted a white satin and it has been distressed.

This would be nice to give as a gift or keep for yourself. Display wrapped candy or your jewelry.

Measurements 6 3/4" x 3 1/4".

Whale Beach House Sign
This is another great cast iron sign I have added to my shop. I have hand painted two shades of blue. This sign will bring POP to any wall.
